Dear friends,

Today we welcome Rev Laurence and Mrs. Pam Turner, who journey to us from Kippax, Leeds, but who come to share with us their experiences when recently visiting the small country of Latvia.

Judy and I (as you well know) were married on the 2nd of August and we spent out honeymoon at Glenda YWCA, Newcastle, Co Down. We were there for two weeks. Arriving early on the morning of Saturday 16th August. The weather was truly awful, so we spent most of the day sat in the lounge reading countless magazines and stirring aimlessly at the rain outside and the waves splashing onto the roadside! One of these magazines that I read made me “Gaze in Wonder and Amazement!”   The magazines name was “”LIFETIMES”- a magazine for Christian living.

I looked at the contents page inside the front cover, and what did I see; page 18: LATVIA, Leanne Dunlop.

“God moves in a mysterious way, His wonders to perform!” Words penned by William Cowper. Words which I am sure many of us have quoted and thought about on our Christian journey! God certainly answered my prayers when thinking ahead to this “WORLD CHURCH SUNDAY!”  (I have enclosed a copy of this page in the newsletter as I am sure you will find it interesting reading!) Also enclosed is the usual envelope in the hope that you may like to give a GIFT OF MONEY to support “METHODIST FUND FOR WORLD MISSION.”  Thank you in anticipation!

Roger Gibson

World Church Secretary.

PS. Don’t forget the lunch at 12.45 in then Queens Hall

Also please join us at Wesley Guild on Monday 6th 7.30pm Bethel Lounge when the speaker for World Church will be Rev. Kenneth Marshall!
