Dear friends
Today we remember how John Wesley’s heart was “strangely warmed”. John Wesley, although an Anglican clergyman established the movement which is now the Methodist church. I guess each of us reading this today has something to thank God for and His influence on Wesley (given that each of us has some involvement with the Methodist church). After this warming experience he had a passion for his faith to make a difference in the world.
A special prayer has been written for today. Wherever you find yourself please use this as part of your devotions today.
God Bless,
Luke
God of immeasurable grace
Your Spirit has from age to age,
confirmed your work of salvation in the hearts of those who love you.
Grant to your people a true spirit of worship,
That renewed in their calling
They might achieve the vision you have given to them.
May we become your people,
United and equipped to proclaim the good news of
Salvation for all,
By faith in our Lord Jesus Christ,
Who reigns with you, and the Holy Spirit
One God, now and for ever
Amen.

Calling all bakers….
I have a belief that most churches harbour some people gifted in catering. I was wondering if you would be so kind as to ask some of your church’s expert bakers to make some scones for the Global Day of Prayer on 31st May. I am seeking to have 3-400 cream teas available for the afternoon event, and I am hoping that individuals might cook 10 or 20 scones for me toward that total. Ideally the scones need to be baked and either delivered to Beverley Minster on the afternoon before 4:00pm, or dropped with someone in your locality who would be prepared to coordinate their delivery on the day. If we can generate the scones in this way it will hopefully go some way to offsetting the costs of the event.
Obviously I am also seeking cream tea eaters too…so encourage people to come and pray in some of the prayer zones on offer in the Minster that afternoon from 4:30pm, and enjoy an afternoon cream tea while you are with us, and if possible stay, or return for the celebration event which begins at 6:30pm on the same evening.
