Dear friends,

Today is Methodist Homes Sunday. A day where we pray for and consider making a financial contribution towards MHA.  MHA’s publicity material for today tells us a little about their work. Please do consider supporting their work in any way you can.

Luke

MHA exists to improve the quality of life for older people, inspired by Christian concern.

We began in 1943, a group of Methodists inspired to improve the lives of isolated older people. From the beginning MHA care has been open to any older person in need, regardless of faith.

In 2009 MHA has more than150 projects throughout Britain, offering residential, nursing, dementia care, supported retirement housing, day care and community schemes.

Our aim is to provide the full range of support relevant to the needs of older people, from companionship to intensive 24 hour nursing care. We have a philosophy of care that appreciates and values each person as an individual, and as a Christian organisation we recognise the spiritual needs of all those involved in our work.

Central’s got Talent!

No not another talent show. Well this time there’ll be no Simon Cowell, but we do have lots of talent here.

On 21st July we are holding our Summer Concert. It will be held at 7.30pm in the Queens Hall. As well as contributions from the choir I am so pleased that the Hull Ladies Choir will be our guest performers.

This year I am asking anyone who wishes to take part. Either as an individual or with others. I am looking for poets, comedians, performers, musicians, perhaps recite something, as well as singers to make this evening a real celebration of all that Central Hall is.

It would be really good if we could have contributions from each group in the life of Central, including Coffee Bar, Parents and Toddlers and Family Hour. I wonder if there are any hidden talents within Therapy Services, DEC, KEY Churches together, One World or Fisherman Mission who would like to take part?

So that I can make up the programme for the evening please let me know before 30th June if you wish to take part.

If reading this makes you say yes and think you could be the next “Diversity”, just let me know. There will be no judges just a night of entertainment.

Luke
