Thanks to our Accompanist’s today a.m. David Stones p.m. Inga Williams,

Dear friends,

As you will be aware Central Hall was used as an ordination venue on 6th July. I spent the weekend at the Methodist Conference in Scarborough. On the Saturday afternoon I attended the opening of Conference, at this event many things took place. The president received John Wesley’s field bible, the vice president a hymn book and various people were welcomed and gave gifts to the president and vice president and gave their greetings to us as a church. On Sunday morning I attended the reception into full connexion of the ministers being ordained. This included those ministers being ordained at Central Hall that afternoon.

In the afternoon I took part on the ordination service at Queen Street Central Hall in Scarborough where Vivienne was being ordained. It was quite emotional as, not only was the end of over 25 years of work and struggles for Vivienne, but I was asked to assist in her ordination. The president at the service was Rev. Dr. Leslie Griffiths who presided at my ordination service 5 years ago.

It was a wonderful weekend for Vivienne and I and our families. It was a real joy to be a part of the Methodist church and really reminded me of the love and depth there is within our particular denomination.
