Dear friends.

World Church 18th and 19th October 2009

Whilst holidaying this year from 18th/25th July at Pleasaunce, Overstrand, N.Norfolk Coast, Judy and I had the tremendous pleasure of meeting a lovely family from the south of England; Rob and Lois Baker their three children Madelaine 11yrs, Ruth 10 yrs and Micah 8 yrs of age! Rob and Lois were both teachers in Music and Languages. They were Baptist Missionaries! They had lived for 2yrs in Benin and were flying to “Mali!” (West Africa) on 27/07/09 for 4yrs! We had many conversations whilst on holiday and it was on one of those conversationary sessions that I asked Rob the following question; “Where does the finance come from!”  Rob’s answer was plain and simple: “We trust all our lives to God, and he provides!”

We are not the Baptist Church, but we too, being Methodists have people who serve the church far and wide as Mission Partners! They too need our support both in Giving and through our Prayers! We have been strong in both these aspects of faith during my time as your “World Church Secretary and Treasurer!

Our faith is forever ongoing and I am sure our Prayers and Giving will not cease in the year ahead! May I thank everyone who gives and prays for “Methodist Missionary Matters” and trust that today’s services and the Wesley Guild on Monday 19th will speak afresh to our hearts and that God’s name may be Praised!.

Please don’t forget our “World Church Lunch” in the Queens Hall (upstairs) at 1pm> Please also try and support our World Church Wesley Guild on Monday when we shall be having a return visit of Mr. David Clark (Burstwick ) who comes to talk to us of the Persecuted Church! David enjoyed his time with us on the last occasion and looks forward very much to meeting with us once again. I am sure we are in for a wonderful evening!

God Bless

Roger
