Dear friends,
Church Council/Circuit meeting members may recall last month I announced we have a vacancy within the life of our church. We are looking to find a new church visitor. Diana Parkes has fulfilled this role and feels it is time to concentrate on other areas. The Visitor, works closely with me (so it will help if we get on!) and visits housebound and ill church members. It s one of those roles which can be very rewarding and in many ways is a role that you make what you will. The visitor will have to have a pastor’s heart, be sensitive, tolerant and be able to keep confidences. The position is voluntary although travel expenses are paid; the visitor will also be a member of the Circuit Leadership team and Circuit Staff meeting and will be subject to a Criminal Records Bureau Check. Training will be given where appropriate. If anyone feels called to this role, I suggest they speak to either myself or Diana for an informal conversation. I would like to thank Diana for all she has done in this role. I have certainly appreciated her work, especially when I started here a year ago.
God bless
Luke
